FAQs

We are often asked many of the same questions regarding our cakes and services, so to help, we have answered the most frequently asked ones here. We hope this answers any questions you may have; however if you have any unanswered question, please just get in touch and we will be happy to help.

Q. Can we come for a cake tasting?

A: Of course! We would be delighted to see you for a no obligation cake tasting and design appointment where you can sample lots of flavours and we create a bespoke design to enhance your wedding or party. Just contact us to arrange an appointment.

Q. I have special diatery requirements, can you bake for me?

A: Absolutely, having special dietary requirements is no reason to be excluded from enjoying delicious cakes, see our provision for special requirements.

Q. Do you provide stands?

A: Yes, we have a whole range of pedestal and traditional silver stands which are available to our couples for hire. The pedestal stands are available on a £15 hire charge per stand. The traditional silver stands are available on a £25 hire charge per stand. The cupcake display towers are available on a £25 hire charge per stand. Each stand hire requires a fully refundable security deposit. The amount of deposit varies per stand as each stand has a different replacement cost. The stand is due back to us within 3 working days of your wedding. It is your responsibility to return the stand. Once the stand is returned to us in good condition, your deposit will be returned.

Q. Can you design a cake just for me?

A: We offer a bespoke cake service and can either design a cake specifically to suit your theme or we can copy a design you’ve fallen in love with.

Q. I happen to be in the area, can I just pop in for a cake tasting?

A: Cake tasting consultations are by appointment only and can be arranged by calling us on 01992538801 or 07917 733 341, or by sending an email to info@prettygorgeouscakecompany.co.uk.

Q. I would really like diamantes on my cake, can you do this?

A: Occasionally, non-edible materials are used on a cake such as brooches, feathers, diamante etc. this will only be on the clients request/ with prior arrangement with the client and must be removed before consumption of the cake. It remains the clients responsibility to inform the venue/caterers of this and we accept no responsibility for any harm that may arise from their use.

Payment Terms

To confirm an order, a non-refundable deposit of £100 is required. The balance on the cake is due one month before delivery and monies can be paid by cheque, bank transfer or paypal.

Cancellation Policy

If your order is cancelled for any reason up to 1 month before the date of the event, the deposit £100 is non-refundable. If it is cancelled within 1 month of the event, you will receive a refund of 30% of the total charge.

Delivery / Collection

Delivery is free within 10 miles of SG14, Delivery to locations outside of this is charged accordingly. Delivery to Central London is charged at £60. All our cakes can be collected from our studio. If the cake is collected, the full responsibility for the safety of the cake lies with the client and The Pretty Gorgeous cake Company will not be responsible for any damage that may occur after the cake last left our studio. Also note that during severe or inclement weather conditions such as snow or floods, we may be unable to deliver your cake as these conditions may be hazardous or make your venue inaccessible. We strongly recommend that you purchase wedding insurance to cover yourselves for this possibility.

Design Alterations

You can alter the design of your cake up to 1 month before the collection or delivery. We will do our best to keep the prices the same. However, any increase in cost that may arise from the alteration will be charged accordingly.

Cakes decorated with flowers

If your cake requires fresh flowers, your florist will supply the flowers to ensure it matches the rest of your decor. We will liaise with your florist to ensure a perfect finish. Please note that some treatments used on flowers and some flowers are toxic and it remains your florist responsibility to ensure these are not used on your cake. Ask your florist for details regarding toxicity. We cannot be liable for any contamination to our food product that may arise from their misuse.
